Love~Hate TV Tuesday - "Cupcake Wars" and "Around the World in 80 Plates"

"Around the World in 80 Plates" is a new cooking competition series that takes its contestants around the world to test their skills in some of the world's greatest - and most demanding - restaurants. The budding chefs will be on the run across the globe, navigating a gauntlet of culinary tests along with changing cultures, customs and cuisines. (Source: Bravo)
In Episode 7,  "Thai Breaker," the chefs headed to Thailand and set out to woo local diners with what they hoped would be authentic cuisine. Interesting episode, and the final moments losing team members, Jenna, Aviary, Liz and Nicole, nominating one another, as the person to be voted off.  In the final analysis, there was a tie between Liz & Jenna, 2-2.  John, from the most valuable chef on the winning team casts the tie-breaking vote,  and (pregnant pause) for none other than Jenna.  And a hip, hip hooray!  Now, both Chaz and her highness Jenna have been eliminated.  Lose Nicole, and all of the demons (in my humble opinion) will have been excised!
The second program I want to discuss is "Cupcake Wars."  I actually Like the show, record and watch weekly.  Some of their creations sound scrumptiously delicious!  On the other hand, some don't!  LOl! It's  sheer mindless quasi-entertainment.  I can fold clothes, talk on the phone, etc. all while 'watching', and never lose sight of whats happening on the show.  My problem is with one of the judges, Florian Bellanger.  Florian, a native Frenchman, has quite the accent.  Sometimes his accent is so thick and his speech almost undecipherable and subtitles pop up to translate what he has just said.  I THINK THAT'S A BIT MUCH!  He appears to be a nice guy, and is quite renown in the restaurant and pastry world, but give me a break here.  The network couldn't find another equally qualified restaurateur, and pastry chef that doesn't have as much of an accent and could more readily understood?  Not in the whole, wide world?  He must a the major stockholder...
